Serena Mountain Lodge towers over the mountainous peaks of Mount Kenya where you can view the spectacular game, regularly viewed at the waterhole daily during game drives. This is the home of the Big Five and the Serena Mountain Lodge prides itself in having a constant record of big game visits and sightings.
The reserve is rich in wildlife with fame for abundance in rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx. The reserve is also popular with a minimum of 900 elephants. Large predators such as the Lion, Leopard and Cheetah are an important attraction (Kamunyak the Miracle Lioness that adapted the baby Oryx is a resident in the reserve).
The Lake Nakuru National Park is one of the top tourist destinations in Africa, famed for the Flamingos that flock to its shores to feed on the Cyanophyte Spirulina Platensis that live in its alkaline waters. It is a very important breeding ground and stop over for many species of birds, and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
