Amboseli National Park is located in the south of Kenya, on the Tanzanian border, and is famous for its spectacular view of Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli has fantastic game viewing and is particularly well-known for its elephant population.

When to visit
Amboseli can be visited at any time of year it is recommended to go in the dry months, which are from June to October and January to February. The short rains peak in November and the long rains in April and May – these months are not recommended for wildlife viewing.
Getting there
The park is located 365km/226mi southeast of Nairobi. Self-drive from Nairobi to the reserve is a good option. You can also drive from other parks if you’re doing a road trip around the country. Taking one of the daily scheduled flights from Nairobi to Amboseli’s airstrip is another option.
